Texas A&M-Fort Worth Receives Support from The Meadows Foundation

Gift underscores growing regional investment in new innovation campus
FORT WORTH, Texas — The Texas A&M University System has received a significant financial contribution from one of the most respected charitable institutions in Texas in support of the new Texas A&M-Fort Worth innovation campus.
The Meadows Foundation’s gift reflects the growing momentum behind the new academic/industry campus – as well as its significance for the entire region.
Robert Albritton, chairman of the Texas A&M System’s Board of Regents and a resident of Fort Worth, praised the support from the Foundation.
“The members of the Board of Regents are grateful to The Meadows Foundation for this gift to our project in Fort Worth,” he said. “We are certain that the Foundation’s goal of improving the lives of Texans aligns with the mission and values of the A&M System and Texas A&M-Fort Worth.”
Chancellor Glenn Hegar added that the gift underscores the significance of the project.
“This support from The Meadows Foundation is a powerful vote of confidence in the work we’re doing,” Hegar said. “It shows that leaders across the region see the value of this project and the impact it will have on education, innovation, and workforce development.”
Founded in 1948 by Algur H. and Virginia Meadows, The Meadows Foundation has awarded more than $1.4 billion in grants to organizations working to improve the quality of life for Texans. The Foundation’s support for Texas A&M-Fort Worth reflects its commitment to strengthening communities through education, economic opportunity, and strategic partnerships.
“The Foundation has always believed that education is one of the most powerful ways to improve lives and communities, a belief that began with our founder, Al Meadows,” said Peter M. Miller, president and CEO of The Meadows Foundation. “By supporting Texas A&M-Fort Worth, we are investing in a project that will open doors for students, prepare future leaders, and create pathways to economic opportunity.”
The Texas A&M-Fort Worth campus is designed to serve the entire region, bringing together academic programs, research initiatives, and private-sector collaboration in the heart of downtown. The project already has attracted support from a wide range of foundations and partners, including the Potishman Foundation, Amon G. Carter Foundation, Sid W. Richardson Foundation, and Ryan Foundation.
